Main Bio

Garrett Podgorski is a guitarist, composer, and producer bridging the gap between classical and popular music. Based in Los Angeles, he combines his rock-and-roll roots with classical lyricism, giving him a distinctly unique voice. Drawing influence from Randy Rhoads to Johann Sebastian Bach, he integrates his individual sound into recordings and live performances around the world.

Podgorski has toured with a wide range of artists. In the fall of 2025, he played guitar and keyboard for Claire Rosinkranz, opening for Maroon 5 on their Love Is Like Tour across the United States. He has also toured with artists including Chrissy and Isabel Dumaa.

While pursuing his own artistic projects, Podgorski is also an in-demand session musician in Los Angeles, having worked on numerous projects for film and television. In the summer of 2025, he collaborated with composer Joy Ngiaw, recording guitar, mandolin, and bass for the score of Solo Mio, directed by Charles and Daniel Kinnane and featuring Kevin James. The film is set for release in February 2026.

Podgorski began studying classical guitar in 2017 and has since become an award-winning classical guitarist. He received first prize in the Gohar and Ovanes Andriassian Young Guitar Competition twice, in 2019 and 2020. He also won first prize in the Fine Arts Club of Pasadena Junior Performance Competition in 2021. Additionally, he earned third place in the Parkening International Young Guitar Competition in May 2019.

He is currently the creative director for The BnT Collection, a project documenting and curating the personal collection of guitars owned by Brad and Teena Boeckmann. He has interviewed artists such as Mike Dawes and Amelia Ramirez and traveled around the world in search of unique guitars for the collection. His most recent project involved filming a documentary in Spain focused on discovering and purchasing guitars with unique stories, which is set to premiere on YouTube in early 2026.

Podgorski began playing guitar at age nine, studying under Janet Robin, a student of Randy Rhoads. He became obsessed with the instrument, and just a year later performed “Eruption” by Eddie Van Halen at his elementary school’s string performance. The recorded performance went viral on YouTube, gaining over ten million views. At age ten, he began busking on the streets of downtown Burbank to save for better equipment. Within a year, he was able to buy his first Gibson Les Paul in Alpine White, honoring Randy Rhoads. By age eleven, he was an artist for Taylor Guitars, Fender Guitars, Schecter Guitars, and Dunlop. At age twelve, he performed at the Randy Rhoads Remembered show in Anaheim, California, in front of thousands, earning the nickname “Randy Rhoads’ grand student.”

At age fifteen, Podgorski was encouraged by world-renowned guitarist Christopher Parkening to begin studying classical guitar after Parkening heard his first album. He began studying under Kevin Enstrom, adjunct professor of guitar at Pepperdine University. In 2020, he was accepted into the classical guitar department under Parkening at Pepperdine. After graduating from Pepperdine University in May 2024, he continued his studies at the University of Southern California (USC), which he is set to complete in the fall of 2026.

Podgorski has an extensive catalog of music released under his name. His first project, Limitless, was released in December 2016 at age fifteen. Limitless is an instrumental metal record influenced by artists such as Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and Eric Johnson. His next record, Villa-Lobos: 5 Preludes, was released in November 2020, marking his first classical release and establishing his reputation in the classical music scene. The following year, he released a record with fellow Pepperdine student Nolan Harvel. Together, they formed The Pacific Duo and recorded their first EP, The Pacific Duo: A Debut, consisting of traditional works for two guitars.

During this time, Podgorski was also writing progressive instrumental music for guitar, releasing Overarching in June 2021 and Turning Point in January 2022. In 2022, he formed an indie-alternative band, Byrdhouse, with singer Joshua Nash. The band—featuring Podgorski on guitar, Nash on vocals and keys, Thomas Lowe on drums, and Ben Blauffarb on bass—released three singles preceding their debut album, Figure It Out, in May 2023. Podgorski is currently preparing for his next release, The Tales of Time, a fourteen-track solo acoustic guitar album set for release in 2026.
Beyond his performance career, Podgorski is also a notable content creator on multiple platforms. With over twenty-five thousand followers on TikTok, three thousand on Instagram, and thirteen thousand combined subscribers on YouTube, he consistently engages in brand deals and sponsorships. He is currently an artist for Eastman Guitars, Augustine Strings, and StringJoy.
